"Frontline" looks at meth abuse tonight on PBS...

Legalizing pot is one thing.

Legalizing meth is simply asinine.

The latest method of making it involves shaking chemicals in a big soda bottle, if there's a the tiniest leak it sprays all over severely burning anyone near the bottle.

Including babies.

I want to see this, but hopefully it's not opposite the SOTU Renew Deal Jan 2012 #2
I would suggest - most people who want to legalize Meth have never seen what it does, up close. lacrew Jan 2012 #3

I'm no fan of meth, meth heads, and certainly not a fan of underground chemists, but this isn't a valid, logical argument against legalized meth. You know, an indoor pot grower could use really heavy planting containers that could tip over and smash anyone underneath, including a baby!

Somewhere there has to be a happy medium between indiviual liberty, and society. There are plenty of high functioning weed smokers...but meth addiction almost certainly leads to loss of job, loss of ability to legally support oneself, etc....and it sentences society to a lifetime of 'support' for the addict.

A guy I knew, "I only smoke a little on weekends"

Meth destroyed him, he ended up jumping off a local bridge.

And tweakers are going to try more kinds of methods to make the meth, no matter how dangerous it is to themselves or anyone around them.

Meth simply makes people no longer care.
They gotta have the stuff, and they'll sell their kids, steal from their parents, anything to get it.
