A Story That Will Break Your Heart
I live in suburban Orlando and went to Aldis to buy some food. Outside of it was a young woman and a child. The woman seemed to be in her twenties and the child seemed to be about three. They were sitting on the walkway and the kid was scribbling in a coloring book. I didn't pay them any mind and went inside to shop. On the way out I noticed she had a sign that said "I lost my job today and have a kid to feed". I almost started crying. It was so sad. My girlfriend and I have been living on the edge since the economic tsunami of 2008 wiped up out.
There was an older man and woman walking out the same time as me. We all looked at the woman and the child and then at each other. We all gave her some money.
I wish I was a chamillionaire and I could have "adopted" them until the mother got back on her feet.
I have seen homeless people on walkers, in wheel chairs, but this was the saddest.
They will be in my prayers.
