and she couldn't answer his question. When he pressed her for an answer she changed the subject to weasel out of answering. There was no need for a shouting match like Alex Jones was pulling off in his spot on the Piers Morgan program. It's interesting that the right wing talking heads are more characteristic in initiating a shouting match. Most of the time because they want to intimidate their debating opponent and mostly because they don't have answers.

I have heard many gun rights people stating that there is no proof that a ban on assault weapons would have saved any lives.
I strongly disagree. I believe that the 20 children and six teachers at Newtown would be alive today if there had been a ban in the last few years on assault weapons.
The killer was a antisocial young man living with his mother in an upscale suburban town. He had no friends and apparently rarely left the area. His mother had in the past few years become somewhat of a "survivalist" and began accumulating many weapons.

This young man did not have the social skills nor the money to go to an underground market and buy the kind of assault weapons that resulted in these deaths. He simply had to stay at home and go to his mother's cache of weapons.
A tragedy on the scale of Newtown could not have been committed by this young man without him having access to these weapons.

The stupid comment by S.E. Cupp about the usefulness of assault weapons comes at the 7:00 minute mark and goes through the 8:00 minute mark. That is the crucial interchange to watch and the one that I commented on in my original post.
