Another one says, "the cover of the NY Times".

This time it was so called reporter Peter Alexander on MSNBC.

"Take a look at this photo on the cover of the NY Times." Arrggh

The New York Times does not have a cover. There is a beloved and venerable term, used in journalism for centuries.

Was he talking about the New York Times newspaper, or perhaps the New York Times magazine, which does have a cover?

our jargon was the biz front, sports front, local front, and lifestyle front...

the "main" front page? we called it the "front front"
