Jeanne Manford, PFLAG founder, died on Monday, age 92.

Missing from most OBITs was the fact hat she was a professional, unionized (UFT) public school teacher for 26 years.

Most of her work founding PLAG was done after the mid 70's, and all thru the 80's WHILE she taught ps in Queens, ( where she also lived, BTW!) NYC,NY. You know? While a lot of privileged upper-middle class kids were tucked away in posh prep schools learning ... frankly... very little about real life?

To Mr. Duncan in particular: please stop talking so much and so fast. You sound, alas, like some kind of hyperkinetic wind-up doll.

A lot could be learned by *listening*. There really is a lot you don't know. That you CAN'T know.
