Specific words matter. When listening to some call-ins on Big Ed's show, I heard some of this...

"I". This isn't solely about the NRA/gun stuff, but applies to many topics. When there is a threat to put limitation on something - no matter what - you get the typical response of " well, "I" would never do that".

I sometimes wonder if this is just a clear indicator of one of the things that is wrong with our current society - lack of imagination, lack of being able to extrapolate an issue beyond the "I" and into the "we" - meaning acknowledging that people are different, and may have issues or intent that demands that changes to the current situation are made.

"I" vs "we". Big difference. Listen for it throughout pretty much all of the debates going on right now, especially when the president wants to make changes that may be positive to the country in general. To the "we".
