I work with several idiots who are furious at Obama for the drop in their paychecks

We all make about the same wage, and the reduction was a few bucks, but they're howling as though Obama personally reached intot their bank accounts and destroyed their lives' savings. Typical tax-n-spend Liberals, they say.

When I bring up the billions lost for millionaire tax cuts and the trillion lost in two Bush-started wars, they dismiss these as irrelevant. "What have you done for me lately?" they ask.

Idiots.

the Bush tax cuts imagine how they would bitch if their income taxes went up. The higher income people aren't any worse than us. If none of those tax cuts were ever made we wouldn't have a 16 trillion dollar debt. Bush was the worst thing ever happened to this country in my lifetime.

for that reduction to continue... but they were too busy trying to keep those tax cuts for their rich friends. They never even mentioned it. Meanwhile, PO, who had no reason to want to continue the payroll break, was making sure your idiot co-workers didn't get their taxes raised (assuming they make less than $400k)... Which, by the way, saved them more money in their checks than the 2% payroll reduction did.

So what's really pissing them off... oh yeah, Obama!

If Romney won, their SS would have been turned over to Wall Street and their Medicare would have consisted of a coupon.

This thread reminds me of a thread I am trying to find, wherein a DUer was quoted in a right wing article expressing distress over this "tax increase" for the middle class. They twisted the post, as the DUer simply meant that he was prepared all along for this cut in FICA, and that a lot of dems did not support this, as it undercut SS funds. I need to send it to a friend, who believed the article. I promised to show her the original post, and cannot find it anywhere.

If you know the post I seek, please private message me. I would be very grateful. Juajen

People think that the president (particularly when its a Democratic president) is responsible for everything that happens, even if he has a hostile Congress. People are so ignorant about politics in this country, the true power lies in Congress. And the Republicans in congress did not want to extend the payroll tax cut. They should be blaming the Republicans.

I'm not a cheerleader of Obama but people have to stop being so ignorant, sheesh.

is also responsible for the breakup of the Beatles, the death of Twinkies, the supernova of 1067 and the premature ending of Gilligan's Island, from what I've heard. Probably just hearsay, though.
