JFK assassination thread blocked in Breaking News Forum. Why? NBC reported it 1-12-13.

It's "breaking news". It directly quotes Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s recent statements regarding his father's belief's about the assassination.

How can this be "off topic"? It's a valid news story about an important issue that still has implications for our country and our political system.

Have things gotten so bad that we're "not allowed" to talk about this subject anymore?

What's going on here?

As Skinner indicated, discussion of the assassination of President Kennedy is of interest to DUers.

Was there another post with all the same comment threads? I'm not debating you, I just don't understand the rationale.

One of the rules for posting in Latest breaking news is no duplicate news reports.

I've seen duplicate posts on DU before. I guess it's just not obvious to me what the harm would be in letting and active discussion continue on a news story - even it there are other posts that reference the same news story.

Anyway, it's an amazing admission by RFK jr. Should be given lot's of coverage.

It's just the rule. I find twenty threads on the same subject annoying enough in GD, and as one who likes the LBN section as a good source of current headlines, I appreciate that dupes aren't allowed.

JFK Jr was looking into the death of his father too, and look what happened to him. Don't fly in any small engine planes.
