Bentley, Rolls Royce post record sales

It's good business when a few thousand cars make billions of dollars.

Bentley and Rolls-Royce make so much off of so little that sometimes, we wonder if they're real-estate agents rather than automakers.

Both German-owned British luxury brands posted record sales in 2012. Bentley, under the Volkswagen Group, sold 8,510 cars, a 22 percent increase over 2011. Rolls-Royce, owned by the BMW Group, sold 3,575 cars, just 37 cars more than in 2011.

Here's a better way to think about it. Taking an average sale price of $300,000 for Bentley and $400,000 for Rolls-Royce, the two automakers pulled in $2.5 billion and $1.4 billion in revenue last year, respectively. Likely, it's much more.

I guess Mitt Romney and the rest of the robber barons need to fill their car elevators.

They spend billions on cars that are really no better than what we spend on them. Oh well. They can afford to be fools.

If all that that money was in middle class pockets, that would create a lot more jobs.

For instance:

1. Those silly Americans, wasting good money on deoderant just to smell better. Everyone smells pretty much the same if they dont use it. And its easy to become accustomed to the way humans are supposed to smell.

2. Why do Americans need so many different pairs of shoes. You can only wear one pair at a time.

3. " " " " " " clothes. " " " " " set of clothes at a time.

4. etc.

want the same things as middle class Americans (and especially when they get enough cash to spend they aren't much different).

My beef with these 1%ers is that that money would create more jobs if it was spread out more evenly. It's nice to have Bentleys and Rolls Royces but you could buy 10 normal cars with that money (if it was spread out to more people), which would create more jobs.

They would be just as comfortable in my Honda. What you really mean is the quality of the brand name tells the world they're rich. Fuck them.

Maybe I can pick up a used Bentley when they fill the ashtray and have to trade.

Hey, I could buy "W's" pick-up, as shown at the bottom of that page/link.

The job creators as they have been called could afford expensive cars, just not employees.

Both are high-performance super-cars. A Bughattie Veyron goes for almost $2.5 million each. A Keonigsegg goes for nearly $2 million depending on the model.

Someone has too much money!
