You Deserve What You Vote For

If you lost your job, out of unemployment, lost your house, are sick and don't have health care, lost your pension, are poor, working for a lousy wage in a lousy job etc and have voted for or continue to vote for Republicans then you deserve what you have created for yourself. You should remain that way. I have no sympathy for you.

It is bad enough that you are stupid enough to vote for a Republican who would let you starve or die, what is worse is that you screw the rest of us and the country. You have created the crises we face. So if you go off a cliff personally or financially, like Herman Cain said, "blame yourself".

Many here who voted for OBAMA have since lost their jobs, homes, and pensions; it's not just Repubs causing this, it's the political landscape across the board specifically as related to getting corporate sponsors and contributors.

Yes people have continued to lose their jobs and their pensions. The economic situation is like a big ship. It takes a long time for it to stop when it is moving. Economic trends come from long established business and government policies.

These destructive economic forces were set up and then put on steroids in 1980. When I was at the labor I could see these trends developing from policies put into place for over a 30 or 40 year period. Businesses and conservatives began dismantling all the safeguards put into place by FDR. By the time Bush was put into office we had all the same conditions that existed in 1929. The economy was never really that good under Bush. It only looked that way. It took a while for the economy to really crash.

Unless we reinstall those safeguards, end outsourcing and demand labor friendly practices, then we will continue down this destructive path. The GOP has created a very complex economic dynamic that favors the rich overwhelmingly. It also makes it very difficult for any single politician to change our direction. Besides the same forces are attacking Europe for their "socialism".

Obama was not bold enough and is surrounded by "watchers" who are there to make sure he does not totally disrupt their game. As President you have to hire advisers. There are some advisers around who worked for Bush. Obama is partially a prisoner to the situation he inherited from 30 to 40 years of economic malpractice.

On hindsight the Kennedys and other forward progressive looking politicians and activists like MLK have been killed or neutralized over time. I am now convinced that a right wing conspiracy was responsible for the Kennedy deaths. They were rich and championed the rights of working people. Kennedy was as much reviled by rich conservatives as Obama is.

Most Americans do no know much about our history since 1900. We are fighting the same battles that were prevalent when Teddy Roosevelt was president. He was a very progressive Republican who supported a workers economic bill of rights.

As a worker or laborer a person has a RIGHT to fair pay for fair work. If that is socialism then that is ok. Then we DEMAND that kind of socialism. "If you are economically enslaved, then you are a slave."

who one votes for because the system is corrupt and broken. I don't feel like I am better off, overall, under Obama or when DEMS took over in 2006.
I don't feel it's JUST Obama's fault or JUST the DEMS' fault because the system is indeed broken, but I don't feel like there's all that much of a difference as to the state of the country in 2004 from 2006, 2008, 2010, etc.
I don't know if this country can ever recover. If it does, it will be in a very long, long time.
And I've voted for DEMS on the national and state level in every election since I was eligible to vote. But I guess I deserve it.

Because the republicans have used these wedge issues to create fear with poor white christians that if they vote for the democrats, a party that might just help them get out of their poverty, that in return the guns will turn everyone into homosexual athiests who donate their guns to be melted down into a statue.

It's the biggest lie that has been going on for decades. This is a country based on freedom and the democrats have never EVER taken away the right for law abiding citizens to own guns. And when it comes to religion, we have always had the right to practice religion in the way we felt was right for us (or not to practice if it's our choice). And as for homosexuality, that is NOT a choice - either you are or you aren't. But if you are you deserve the same rights as everyone else in this country.

9. Failure Of Analysis
Wed Jan 25, 2012, 12:29 PM
Jan 2012

I see a lot of failure of analysis and lack of understanding of history. Teddy Roosevelt and FDR talked about an "Economic Bill Of Rights". That agenda is where we should be going.

Democrats have largely been forced to the right because the country votes against progressive pro worker and pro labor ideas. If workers had voted for their economic interests in the long run we would have had different outcomes. Clinton ran as a new Democrat because he perceived that he had to run as a corporate Democrat to win. Democrats have allowed themselves to be pushed right. And when politicians ran on pro labor ideas voters voted against them.

Look at what happened to Feingold, Grayson and other progressives who support worker rights.

The failure is in voters. Politicians will run based on the message that voters send them. If you voted for Obama and you are still unemployed it is because the system was broken down starting 40 years ago. The GOP and conservatives have ALWAYS gamed the system to support vulture capitalism. That fact should be too obvious to even mention.

No one created wealth on their own. The rich got that way making workers work for "peanuts". I am amazed at how ignorant most Americans are when it comes to labor history. Romney is wealthy because he "screwed" working class Americans. He did not earn his money in any kind of moral way.

The only hope is to vote for progressive causes. Voters have given this country to corporations. If workers do not understand that the GOP just kills them economically every time, then I wonder if there is any hope.

Then agains some of the replies I see are most likely GOP trolls.
