Gabby Giffords and an Ominous Development in Missouri

http://motherjones.com/mojo/2012/01/gabby-giffords-missouri-cross-hair-stickers-democrats

"Which is why some news out of Missouri on Tuesday was particularly stomach-churning: Just hours before Giffords made her way into the nation's Capitol, an unknown provocateur was stalking the halls of the Missouri Capitol, tagging the doors of lawmakers—most of them Democratic women—with images of rifle crosshairs. From the Columbia Daily Tribune:

Orange stickers with an image of rifle crosshairs were found Tuesday on the office doors of several Democratic state senators, prompting an investigation by Missouri Capitol Police, Senate Administrator Jim Howerton said. The stickers were on the doors of all four Democratic women in the Senate — Jolie Justus and Kiki Curls, both of Kansas City, and Maria Chapelle-Nadal and Robin Wright-Jones, both of St. Louis, Justus said. One similar sticker was found on the nameplate outside the door of state Rep. Scott Dieckhaus, R-Washington.

“If anyone thinks this was a prank, it is not a prank,” Justus said after discussing the discovery of the stickers on the Senate floor. “You don’t joke about someone’s personal safety.” A sticker also was found on the door of Sen. Victor Callahan, D-Kansas City and the Democrats’ floor leader."

Unfortunately, it's behaviour like this they seem to get away with. I hope there were HALO cameras so that the culprit can be caught and prosecuted under the fullest extent of the law.

Dems need a million signatures to get a recall on the ballot; Rethugs just need one bullet.

jab at republican attitude when it comes to violence to the left by the right, or just about any breaking of laws by the right. Not meaning to mock the actual threat.

Palin is responsible for her 'target' map and for her 'reload' commentary; she knew damned well that there are those who would hear her words as encouragement and permission. That mentality is cheered on by the likes of Beck, Limbaugh, O'Reilly and their ilk. Combined with the thinly veiled racism that pervades 'conservatism' in the country today, the result is inevitably a recipe for sorrow.

DEMAND that our FBI and local law officials make it their
priority to shut down hate talk radio and people like Palin.
THEY are a threat to our security- not some grandma being
strip searched by the TSA.

I want these people identified and held accountable for the
acts of domestic terrorism.

As much as the idea of frog-marching Rush and Sister Sarah off to some remote island prison makes me giggle, I know it's not possible. Those two are very careful to walk right along the edge of that invisible line between free speech and incitement.

I kept telling this to local Tea Party kooks that thought Palin's Crosshairs over Democrat Districts was cute.

someone who thinks it's a funny joke and they are above the rules and good decency. I really couldn't see an underling doing something like this out of fear of getting in trouble for it.

State Sen. Robin Wright Jones, D-St. Louis, tells reporters about “target” stickers posted outside her office door Tuesday.

Missouri Capitol Police continue to try to find out who placed small “target” stickers next to the Capitol office doors of at least six state lawmakers Tuesday.

And why.

The small, orange stickers appeared between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m., state Sen. Robin Wright Jones, D-St. Louis, said. “There was no note. No message,” she said.

At least five Democratic senators received a sticker, placed on the hallway nameplate next to their office doors.
