If we had rescued two US hostages during a Bush SOTU...

...well, the mind boggles. I'm thinking a balloon drop during the speech at minimum.

There are some things I really like about Obama and his relative discomfort with crass self-aggrandizement is one of them.

with all kinds of mentions of how the soldiers were working under Bush's direct orders (and praising Bush for not mentioning it during the speech - he wouldn't have had any idea what was going on).
