The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and GENERAL WELFARE of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

That's right, it says they have the power to pass laws that provide for the general welfare, like heath care and gun regulation!

Reading it and doing it are two different things.

The Rethugs trash the words of the Constitution

every day with their actions.

It is the illusion of respect for the Constitution. It's how they pick and choose the parts that they follow, and ignore the rest.

They are putting on a sideshow and using the Constitution as a prop to fool the gullible into believing that they are not only harmless, but trustworthy.

If I thought they were actually listening, comprehending what they are reading, and willing to do the work necessary to live up to it's ideals, I would be all for it. But as these are the House Republicans, meh, not so much.

with mandatory attendance by all legislators. It cannot be read often enough, IMO.

The Constitution is far more than the 2nd Amendment, which appears to be the part most well known by conservatives.

Mandatory attendance!
