Culture wars.

Some are calling the move toward increased gun control and the new focus on gun violence a war on the culture of gun ownership.

Yeah, and some wars should be won for the welfare of the country.

when Pat Buchanan called for culture war at the Republican convention. Then it was to preserve white, Christian men, and it was implied gun ownership. Now it is front and center.

When will they realize that theirs is a dying culture?

Over time an overall sentiment builds in the collective consciousness. Then something traumatic happens and provides the tipping point.

The tragic, terrifying death of 20 children at Sandy Hook has provided that tipping point.
