I think the NRA will lose power, but gain money and members

Thoughts on the NRA putting out an ad against raising the income tax... which is kind of a stretch as a non-partisan pro Second Amendment position.

The wingnuts flock to wingnuttery. Whoever is most offensive and extreme speaks for them.

To most people the NRA is revealing itself to to be a perverted racist Republican front-organization.

But in January of 2012 that would have made the NRA the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination.

The NRA is a better organized advocacy group than anything else the teabaggers have to work with.

It may be rational (for the NRA, though not for the cause of guns) for the NRA to take up the teabag standard in the way they are doing.

As a group loses moderates it has to market more to extremists.
