How To Diffuse The "Class Warfare" Talking Point With Your Repug Friends......

The latest Repug talking point against President Obama and the Dems is that they are engaging in "class warfare". I have a Repug friend that tried to use that argument on me. Here's what I did.

I asked him which class he thinks he's in. Then used the fact that 400 individuals in this country have more money than the bottom 150 million people. He backed down immediately.

Use this thread to list other ways of diffusing this bogus Repug talking point.

And apparently it's ONLY class war when we fight back. Actually I kind of agree. Until we fight back it's a class massacre.

When he DOUBLED the payroll tax on the workers to compensate loss of revenue when he slashed the top marginal tax on rich from 74% to 28%.
As a result, their income has almost TRIPLED since while ours has stayed relatively flat.

Actually, I'd be happy if the income of us working class schlubs had stayed even relatively flat over the last 30+ years. Instead, our productivity has gone up and up while wages have remained stagnant. Labor is creating a whole bunch more wealth nowadays that isn't making it into the pockets of the working people. But it works out real well for some folks to have the people under them producing the equivalent of two or three 1980-era workers while paying them the same salary they paid back in 1980 for one worker.

Up to Half of Americans houses are underwater so cant move, they cant afford college or graduate with 50,000 debt or more and health insurance is way too expensive and climbing 20% a year.

then whisper in peoples ear that their neighbor has an unfair health care and pension system from work. Or that dirt poor people are getting food stamps and taking the food right out of their own fridges.

What is the rights attack on teachers and unions if not class warfare?

Of course this is class warfare but it is nothing new, we didn't declare the war, and we are losing so badly it is likely our entire country will be destroyed by the rich starving us to death.

The rich want to stave the beast which basically means no taxes on the rich in exchange for the elimination of social security and medicare which is all the stands between you and me living in poverty and dying early, horrible deaths.

The rich want no unions so we can't even earn a living wage.

The rich want no public lands so they can exploit our natural beauty and no EPA rules so they can polllute our air and water. Again, we will live in poverty with no beauty and die horrible early deaths due to pollutants.

(go on and on...as any one of us could)

Hell yes this is class warfare ala Charles Dickens and we should continue to ask "May I have some more please" until it ends.
