and also the natural aging process
(only Reagan kept his jet black hair, but we all know that was not his natural color, as people who saw him after his retirement without hair dye instantly noticed.)

They all have aged in the four years, far greater than four years.
Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, even Nixon (who always looked older than he was) aged greatly.

Although Eisenhower who had very little hair left, was already graying before his second term from what I remember. However, I have always wandered if Kennedy, had he lived, would have followed suit. W probably turned more gray from worrying about what he would say when the country found out that Cheney was really running the show.

a sign of distinction. Maybe they are advised to slowly color their hair gray on purpose. Looks wise... looks distinguished.

Nah... then it would be like a conspiracy theory or something. It just seems... expected, after the second election and by the time the second term begins, their hair is suddenly grayer.

But then.... there's still a lot of politicking to do, and then there's that "eternal image" of having been the president to solidify.

Oh, forget it.
