In his latest offer to Boehner, the president proposes $800 billion in savings, including $290 billion in interest savings, $100 billion in defense cuts, and $130 billion in savings that would come from an adjustment to the inflation index for Social Security benefits.

The White House says the president’s plan would cut spending by $1.22 trillion over 10 years, compared with $1.2 trillion in cuts from the Republicans’ initial offer. Of that, $800 billion is cuts to programs, and $122 billion comes from adopting a new measure of inflation that slows the growth of government benefits, especially Social Security.

Also, Nancy Pelosi agreed with President Obama putting cuts on the table:

ETA: I expect to get screwed over by Republicans. That is nothing new. That is why I have never voted for a one of them in my entire life. I did not expect President Obama to do it almost the first thing after he got re-elected, after I voted for him and donated money to his campaign.

5. Enough Seniors Voted For The GOP In The States And Nationally To Give Them Power

The GOP could not win anything without enough seniors voting for them. The GOP should not get even 10% of seniors anywhere based on their policies. You misunderstand that I blame seniors but they are a key constituency that has been able to swing elections. The GOP would not have won control in 2010 if seniors overwhelmingly rejected them. Voting stats have shown in many areas particularly the South that senior by majority voted GOP. And I know enough seniors personally who hate Democrats and always vote GOP. And they are in enough numbers to give elections to the GOP.

Actually I blame anyone who votes GOP who works for a paycheck. The absence of common sense just amazes me.
