Help! The new deal with women in combat...

I have been hearing that they are allowed in combat areas but not in combat. What exactly does that mean? Are women going to just set around in the the battle area but not allowed to fight??????

How can women be in combat but not in combat? Is it going to be some sort of a weird support role???? Can someone give me the full story? Are we ladies in or out????

Before: Women can't serve in combat roles. So they can't be in the infantry, tank corps, artillery and so on. They can be in other roles that place them in danger, but not as a 'fighter'. For example, supply officers, transport helicopter pilots, and so on.

Now: Women can be in any role. So they can be infantry, drive a tank, fire the artillery, and so on. Though it will take a bit for this to be implemented.
