Gun safety info, from a friend:

FROM REP DIANA DEGETTE JUST THIS MOMENT -- the way to get new legislation passed soon for gun safety is for *Everyone* to call their Rep and tell them you support bans on sales of NEW assault-style weapons and larger magazines. Even HER office gets calls form NRA members, so we on the other side have to STEP UP AS WELL.

There's nothing at all preventing the industry from bringing new high powered, high capacity weapons to the market.

Mainly the people the message is trying to convince.

To the great majority, "gun safety" means proper hndling and care and safe use of firearms.

Repackaging gun bans as "gun safety" just creats a "see, they're out to ban guns and they're being dishonest about it" type of response.
