The GOP aren't victims, they just play them on TV.

Listening to my congressman and Speaker of the House John Boehner begging for pity from the mainstream media is truly laughable.

Especially when you consider members in his party at the state level are planning to undermine democracy as we know it. With them it's never about evolving (a word that is extinct in conservative vocabulary in more ways than one) it's about rigging the game so they can continue their steady rightward march.

While Bobby Jindal felates reporters with pasteurized one-liners about being the "party of stupid", Reince Priebus is working behind the scenes trying to create the "Southern Strategy for the 21st century". The plan: extrapolate the divide between rural voters and urban voters.

The antebellum period is over, and has been so for some time, without a shot being fired the conservatives have managed to wage war on the federal government while at the same time controlling the levers that allows it to operate.
