I admit, I was getting lazy and simply checking DU to get a quick goings-on in the world. Today, I had some time to check out another oldie-but-goodie, commondreams.org. I found this Matt Taibbi article about the new head of the SEC. I was under the impression that Mary Jo White was a courageous choice for the head of the SEC:

8. While I do find a lot of news and info on DU it's not a "News" site, here are suggestions.

So it's no surprise you should have to leave the site to get news. Commondreams is good, I like The Nation, TPM - Talking Points Memo, and Salon.com if you're not familiar with them they all have great writers like Matt Taibbi.
