Autistic HS boy wins Homecoming King:“it is the awsomest time I’ve ever had in my whole entire life”

Autistic high school boy wins homecoming king

Tyler Morris is autistic and loved by his fellow students at Fernandina Beach . He was pumped up this Friday night, one of 12 male students nominated to the homecoming court .

................

As he was introduced at halftime , Morris and his escort got a huge ovation from the student body. And just a few minutes later what seemed like the inevitable, Morris was announced as the King of the court.

"I think it is awesome, it is the awesomest time I have ever had in my whole entire life," said Morris as his fellow students chanted "Tyler, Tyler, Tyler!!""

.......................................

Rob Meeks, a guidance counselor and faculty sponsor of the Student Government Association, said Morris had the highest vote total of anyone in the ten years he has been running the homecoming event.

Wasn't paying close attention, so I assumed it was a local high school. Good to know it's getting national exposure, however. This is an inspiring story that builds confidence in my belief that the kids are alright.

inside and out. Our society hasn't turned them all into sociopaths yet.

On a side note, though, what pathetic writing skills and editing for this article. It sounds like it was written by a fifth grader.

It's like there's starting to be a backlash against bullying, and what a great trend that is. I hope it continues!
