Is there a company making smart phones that does not abuse foreign workers?

And I mean directly or indirectly. Seriously, we all need these phones. I do NOT want to support any company that promotes abusive labor situations. But, I'm not sure there are any options out there. SAD.

You will never find a phone that hasn't been touched by the hands of hundreds of sweatshop workers / 5 year old Congonese boys in the mine fields with guns to their heads.

But, the same companies that make smart phones, make regular cell phones.

It almost certainly contains mostly Chinese made components.

Do you use, for instance, Microsoft Windows, a company which uses Foxconn & similar?

Consider that Foxconn makes 40% of the world's consumer electronic components. Consider that the rest are made largely in economically deprived countries under working conditions we would consider unfair.

The problem - inherent to modern day capitalism - isn't going to go away by boycotting phones or blaming one company.

And that's what I thought. Until we get humane, not globalistic governments, this is what we deal with, along with destruction of our environment and endangered species.
