A literary icon turns 200 today: Happy birthday Pride & Prejudice!

It's an anniversary worth noting. The world the characters inhabit may long have passed but Austen's characters are as alive sparkling as any ever written. Her sly observations of human nature are as delightful today as they were in 1813.
