2. I have been saying this for decades.

It is like there is some sort of push back from logic and common sense. You could see it happening in country after country, including this one. It is almost like one of those horror science fiction stories. I wonder if over population is working on making humans crazy.

There may be a need in people to suffer and be punished and want others to tell them what to do to simplify their lives.

Whether it's Islamic fundies making women cover their entire bodies with hot robes in the desert heat and see the world through a tiny slit, making them marry their rapists, and so on... or it's American Christian fundies teaching fairy tales in science classrooms, telling women they weren't really raped and telling them what they can and can't do with their own bodies, or it's Jewish fundies in Israel, aka the Orthodox Jews, who are telling women what they can and can't do, enforcing ridiculous rules about tying knots and riding in elevators and flipping switches, and then shooting Palestinians for sport, fundies are obnoxious and dangerous.
