but I didn't think he wanted more. I do hope that if he wants it, the fine people of Connecticut will see to it that he gets it.

I only hope MA does the right thing and selects a Senator who respects their heritage.

But, I love what this says.

I'm very thankful this didn't elevate someone the likes of a West or Goehmert.

Yay Elizabeth!

I know that is a hard committee to get on, but she would be awesome on it - and could not have been assigned to it when Kerry was on it as only one from a state could be there.

Does becoming senior Senator allow her to move to chair on that committee? That would be awesome with awesome sauce.

Kerry and Rockefeller both were chairs of two of the most important committees, SFRC and Commerce, as junior Senators. Both entered the Senate in 1985 and by 2009, were in their 24th year in the Senate. They were themselves among the most senior, influential Senators - even though Kennedy and Byrd were the senior senators. There were MANY senior senators who were less powerful than Kerry and Rockefeller.

All it does is make her name the first name on announcements of things the Senate does for MA and some other things like having more say on recommending federal justices for MA.

It does affect things like picking the people to recommend federal justices - though Kerry allowed Brown some say.

I wonder if there is some easy way to check. If not a record, then it certainly has to be second fastest.
