Newt Wants To Leave The Earth For A Younger Planet (Stewart)

Video at link...

“You’re right, Mr. Moon Base, they won’t take Ron Paul seriously. And that’s why I’m going to make Ron Paul my first ambassador to Moonlandia! He’s out there! So what exactly are we supposed to do with this moon base?!”

Stewart then played a clip of Gingrich jokingly suggesting he’d make it a state, which flummoxed Stewart, but soon he had it all figured out.

“I see what’s going on here, this isn’t about making new states. Newt Gingrich did that global warming ad with Nancy Pelosi realizing that the Earth is very sick–and now he wants to leave it for a younger planet!”

I didn't like Gingrich, but the ad I was forced to watch before being shown my video was a savage attack on Gingrich. Infidelity, worry about climate change, all the rest presented in the most humiliating format. After I saw that my opinion of Newt increased, with the kind of enemy that puts out this kind of anonymous ad, a certain respect is gained from intelligent people simply from the fact the virtue of your enemies techniques.

Newt shouldn't be ashamed of his pro-science view, his visions of a moon base. Of all things he could be ashamed of that is the last. We should go to the moon. We should pay attention to brain science. These are things he can be proud of supporting.

What's driving me nuts is Romney, stripped naked like a Ken doll, with no genitalia, asserting this state as the desirable ideal for America. At some point no mistakes becomes a rejection of humanity, a rejection of human nature and a sign of a life managed by handlers who kept you from ever living, a sign of puppet strings.

We shouldn't fear the dirty secrets, the madness we can see -

We should fear that secrets and madness that we can't. Give me an imperfect leader any day over the "perfect" leader who is an illusion, a Ken doll controlled by savage children unseen.

Edit: what's going to move this country forward is an acceptance of our humanity, not more embracing false ideals about what we should be.

Rational people agree that science needs to be taken seriously & that America needs a presence in space - but you've got to take into account that Newt wasn't really advocating a strategic, well-laid-out plan for a new policy for space exploration & development. He was pandering to aerospace workers in Florida for the upcommming primary. Nothing more.

My critique is about the nature of the attack I saw last night. Person not policy. Popular acceptance of this kind of attack has lead us to this ideal of the plastic man, the "ken doll" image Romney fits so well. The problem is this image isn't real, nobody fits it, everybody has junk. The ability of someone to fit this ideal in one's eyes is proportional to how little information one has about them. That means that the majority of the facebook generation will be barred from public service because of what they said at 2am that one night, unless they have the money to clear it. The picture is a world where leaders are grown, locked in rooms and trained to say nothing anywhere lest they create a gotcha.

When what we want a leader to be begins to diverge from what we know a human to be, we are at the threshold of great danger.

But that's all I'm saying, God knows no newt
Endorsement from me.
