Senators gripe: We can't bring guns to hearing
Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz are asking for help in bringing unloaded guns to Wednesdays Judiciary Committee hearing.
The senators have run into hurdles with local and federal law enforcement.
In anticipation of tomorrows hearing on gun control, we instructed our staff to work to ensure various unloaded firearms, under law enforcement supervision, could be brought into the hearing, Graham and Cruz, wrote to Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy. Our offices worked with various officials in local and federal law enforcement, as well as the Senate Sergeant at Arms, but it appears that the requirements to secure the weapons at the hearing are so impractical as to be unworkable.
But Leahys office said they did not receive the letter from Graham and Cruz on Tuesday.

They'll be calling Cruz the intellectual leader of the Senate republicans pretty soon. Dude's a smooth snake oil salesman. And a snake.

(5,917 posts)when scrotus stepped in and stopped the counting. since when does a supreme court get to tell any state how and when to choose electors. that was an impeachable offense.
there ought to be a non-partisan group that goes after people in gov that perform these kind of acts. they do shit like this knowing that the current make-up of the gov will not prosecute them for going beyond the scope of their assigned parameters. and i mean a group with subpoena power and real teeth like government police that police the politicians.
