Heres a chart of the top 10 worst states. Note that in Washington State, the poor actually pay six times as much of their incomes in taxes as the top 1 percent :

(10,164 posts)Here in Oregon, we have no sales tax, but do have an income tax. Not coincidentally, the study named us (along with Vermont) as the "most progressive."

"Most people are good" is the pretty basic perspective at the foundation of the Democratic platform, from which other policies flow naturally.
Needless to say - the other party is somewhat on the opposite side of that.

(690 posts)in the 60's the highest mark up on cars was on the cheapest cars and the pick up trucks, also the mark up on quality furniture was 10% the mark up on cheap furniture was 400%.
