"I have first-hand information regarding the reiterated participation of Senator Robert Menendez in inappropriate sexual activities with young prostitutes while on vacations in the Dominican Republic," Williams wrote in one email.

Levine and Williams corresponded for months, but Sloan said her colleague was unsuccessful in persuading Williams to talk on the phone.

In July, CREW forwarded the information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Justice Department and a reporter for ABC News. The emails posted online show that both the FBI and ABC News tried to reach Williams by phone or to meet in person but were unsuccessful.

"I know that Pete Williams not only strung us along and refused to speak to us, he also didn’t speak to ABC and didn’t speak to the FBI," Sloan said. "So his consistent refusal to speak with anyone over the past 8 months undermines his credibility."
