Wisconsin: Governor Says His Office Cooperating In Aides Investigation

http://www.channel3000.com/politics/30316498/detail.html

MADISON, Wis. -- Gov. Scott Walker said on Friday that his office is cooperating as an investigation continues into several of his current and former aides' activities while the governor was Milwaukee County executive.

Two women who were on Walker's staff when he was the county executive were charged on Thursday with engaging in political fundraising while working on county time. They are the fourth and fifth people with ties to Walker who are facing charges in connection with an ongoing John Doe probe.

During a visit to Tool Service Corp. in Wauwatosa to promote his legislative agenda, Walker told reporters that he wasn't aware of any political activity in the office. He said that the quick resignation of one of the woman facing charges -- Darlene Wink -- demonstrates that his office took action on not permitting campaign activities on government time.

He declined to say whether he had spoken to investigators, but they his campaign has been cooperating for months. The governor said his office will continue to review any complaints of alleged involvement of employees who work for him now.
