It was very strange, because they did look fake. It was so odd to see the color in the ghetto. Clothes, paint, signs.

Hitler's Bavarian headquarters--Eagles Nest. It looked very much like that photo in their depiction. I suppose it may have even been shot on location...

Hitler's "Eagle's Nest" was designed and built for Adolf Hilter's 50th Birthday by his personal secretary and Head of the Nazi Party Chancellery Martin Bormann. The monument is called "Kehlsteinhaus" in German because of it was originally intended to be a "Teahouse" for the head of the Third Reich. This mountain-top hideaway played a prominent role as the main unit objective in HBO's critically acclaimed mini-series "Band of Brothers."

Eagle's Nest

The allied bombing and battles of World War II left the building intact and today the Eagle's Nest remains in its original state. In the years after the war, the Eagle's Nest and the surrounding area of Berchtesgaden remained a part of US Armed Forces property in southeastern Germany. The US military set up a recreation center where servicemembers could hike in the summer and ski in the winter. The US military returned the area to Germany in the 1990s.

At that time, the German government demolished the American General Walker Hotel at Obersalzberg, to make way for the existing bus depot that serves the Eagle's Nest.

It's cool to know that was their source.

...try to watch Nazi Scrapbooks from Hell. Oh my god. It's a scrapbook by one of the guys who ran one of the death camps. It's chilling. Apparently most of the pictures they have from the concentration camps comes from this scrapbook. Amazingly well done documentary.

It's a photo album that they thought was lost. It was discovered and even had a photo of the doctor on the train arrival platform to separate out the new arrivals to the camp.

Edited to add: I think the most disconcerting part of the show was that there were pictures of the Nazis on vacation. They looked like such normal people doing normal things, but then they took photos of them doing awful things like separating people to be slaves or gas chambers. There were some other pictures that came out recently that Eva Braun had taken. http://www.life.com/gallery/57511/image/109852765/rare-eva-brauns-private-photos#index/0
