Austrians Protest Right Wing Ball

Austrians gathered in memory of the 6 million Jews murdered by the Nazis condemned plans to hold a ball of extreme rightists later in the day Jan. 27, saying the event's timing transformed it into a macabre dance on Holocaust victims' graves.

It seems some European countries have even worse problems with the Right than the U.S. does.

our Controller asked one of them if he felt guilty about the Holocaust. He said No, I wasn't alive then, but I feel a responsibility to ensure it doesn't happen again. Apparently not all Germanic peoples feel the same way.

all Germans were doing the killing. There were resistance fighters there. Not all Germans were bad. My husbands family were living in the Germany area of Poland and they made them leave. They had no choice but go back to Germany. Many feared for their lives. Many were afraid their own children would turn them in. The man that worked with me told me he was forced to join the Youth corp. He didn't want to but he was forced. None of us knows what it is like in that situation. My husband and your friend shouldn't carry the sins of their fathers. They were born way after the war. But he feels the same way your friend felt. Never to let it happen again. Hopefully history will not repeat itself.
