1. it's a pity...
We have advanced so far technologically , yet we seem to have regressed socially. Our society is all about isolating our citizens from one another. It is also a shame that mankind may well be obliterated from existance because of the wealthy few who run thw world with such blind self-interest...

2. Dtom67, yes.
The isolation from each other sometimes seems to me to be what is truly at the root of our American decline.
Broadcasting has played an interesting role in all of this. For about 100 years now, an American citizen has been defined as an isolated individual who gets lectured by the broadcast media. I have tentative hopes that the rise of the Internet and the resulting decline of Broadcasting will help us all engage and be less passive. ......I hope. |

5. Weren't the Lakota great horse thieves? And didn't they barter with Horses and furs?
Just because they did not lock people up for stealing does not mean they did not steal.. Just because they had no money to trade for goods does not mean they did not trade...While they may have had some very good aspects of their lives, they certainly were not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.
