This was an actual thread title from Free Republic

"A Brief History of Mitt Romney’s Record of Putting Profits Ahead of People as CEO of Bain Capital"

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2839325/posts#comment

Some of the comments:

"He’s part of why our capitalistic system has been undermined."
"Why should deadbeats suck millions out of a company and leave the lenders holding the bag. Is that real capitalism?"
"It’s called Crony Capitalism and that is what Mitt was practicing."
"Bain over-leveraged the firms because they knew they could walk away with the profits taken out of the borrowed money. That put those companies in a weaker position against their competitors and made it more likely for them to go bankrupt."

They're out to lunch over there. The same post can seem like it came from DU, then immediately blame socialism. I feel like with some of these people, there exists the possibility for an eye-opening conversion to this side of the aisle.

If a fundie were screwing over everybody with the kind of capitalism that Mitt uses, they'd be singing his praises.

Please, no one here should ever doubt the power of the hate that fundies have for the LDS faith. It supercedes racism, sexism, and any form of nationalism or other religious bigotry.

Because he adds so much to the carnival atmosphere. Besides, a debate between Obama and the newt would be a classic. Brains versus . . . . Something.

nope, not a chance. These nutcases will be schmoozing Mitt if he ends up being the candidate just like they did McCain after they had totally trashed him before he won that primary.

If Mitt is the winner, all threads trashing him will be deleted and full proclamations that such things as said in the thread you reference were NEVER said and all evidence of such threads will go 'poof'.

...the last part of the statement contradicts the first part. Cherry picking wingnut comments is futile. What kind of "eye-opening conversion" are you envisioning?

We may not be able to make them liberals or socialists, but turning them against corporations is progress.

This one would do well here...
"Agree it’s horrible what Romney did at Bain Capital. It’s destructive to Capitalism.

Anyone that thinks it’s okay to rob companies from the top, destroy people lives, and ultimately destroy a business for personal gain is stupid or sick in the head.

That’s what the Mafia does to businesses. It’s called Crony Capitalism and that is what Mitt was practicing. Robbing companies from the top for personal gain and the hell with the company in the long run. The question is how many businesses did Mittens wreck???

If you are a true Capitalist, then there is no way you can defend this type of behavior.

Usually the same people that defend Mitt over this criminal behavior thinks that it’s okay for Congress to insider trade but not we the people."

it's socializing the risks while privatizing the profits. That's not socialism by a long shot. We've been complaining about exactly this sort of activity here on DU from the start.

These idiots are too stupid to believe they are part of the 99%. But they are coming around, through a tortured trail. No, I don't expect them to learn anything or drop the thousands of other illusions they live under.

Freepers are known for their economic Darwinism and blaming all of the wrong people/entities for Capitalism's failure.

What Mittster and Bain did is part and parcel to that agenda.

Put it all together and you get self-conflagration.

an argument no matter how illogical, factually incorrect or even against what they call 'American' principles just to get to the goal of winning.

Hell, they argue against freedom and constitutional violations constantly. Most recently agreeing with West that all liberals (communists to them) be kicked out of the country. They don't want a democratic republic that was set up by the founding fathers they worship.
