LA's Cardinal Mahoney Forgives Those Who Are Angry At Him For Covering Up Child Rape

Cardinal Roger Mahony, who has been at the center of the molestation cover-up at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and subsequently relieved of his duties is praying for forgiveness. Not for himself, but for his accusers. Writing on his blog it is clear that the only person he feels pity for in this growing scandal is himself. Not the children who were molested nor their parents who entrusted them to their abusers.

but the church, and its minions, has demonstrated that there is nothing it/they won't stoop to.

God help him if he couldn't muster up enough courage to FORGIVE those "nasty, malicious" accusers!

How dare they! He's a Cardinal, for Pete sakes!

Who will be the next celebrity forgiver? Charles Manson perhaps, forgiving the city of L.A. for interfering with his murderous crime spree?

He read the "apology" and instantly followed with something to the effect of "Wow! What a narcissist!"

I went on a tour of his new cathedral, a fantastic confection of wonderful art, architecture, religious symbolism, history --

-- and noticed there was a little side room, undecorated except for a large board devoted to childhood photos from now-adult kids who had been molested by the priesthood. A little chapel of sorts where they could go to pray, feel their prayers were being heard. Find some solace.

How nice. A little room of their own.

The tour guide made sure to point out the donation boxes for the building fund. I smiled at her but thought, "Like hell."
