Where the heck is Zach de la Rocha?

I heard then making fun of him on my local rock station morning show saying that he was now the president of his HOA, but I haven't been able to find any confirmation on this.

The guy is a certified genius and it would seem like he would be at the forefront of the OWS movement. Always find it strange when people like him seem to just fall off the face of the Earth.

And:

Rage Against the Machine
It's been 12 long years for Rage Against the Machine fans, but it appears another studio album may be in the works. The band, known for their loud, angry and politically fueled music, called it quits in 2000, but lead singer Zack de la Rocha told a Chilean newspaper in 2010 that the band is planning on releasing another studio album. Guitarist Tom Morello denies this claim, so all fans can do is hope and pray the group can channel all their rage into the machine and pump out one more album. Cross your fingers but don't hold your breath, there may be a long wait ahead.

But who is lying? "Zack de la Rocha told a Chilean newspaper in 2010 that the band is planning on releasing another studio album. Guitarist Tom Morello denies this claim"

I'm just surprised he's not out there jamming and giving the police hell.

11. That he's the head of his HOA? An obvious joke. Did you read the link above? He has another band.

Another leg was added for Europe in 2010. The leg included dates at indoor arenas, and outdoor festivals. The band also headlined the Download Festival at Donington Park, on June 12. On July 23, Rage performed at a benefit concert at the Hollywood Palladium theater in their hometown of Los Angeles, California to protest against the Arizona SB 1070 law. It was their first U.S. show in 2 years and according to guitarist Tom Morello it will be their only show in the U.S. for the year. In late 2010 they also completed a short 3 date South American tour, including a headline set at the SWU Music & Arts Festival. This was the first time they had played in that continent.
Morello stated, the only Rage appearance for 2011 is an appearance on the 30th of July at the L.A. Rising festival with Muse and Rise Against.[8]

and:

Although there were rumors and even an alleged comment from singer Zack De La Rocha that RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE would finally make a new studio album this year, guitarist Tom Morello told The Pulse Of Radio that all the band has on its agenda for the rest of 2011 is an appearance at the L.A. Rising festival on July 30 in Los Angeles alongside MUSE and RISE AGAINST, among others. "Right now there are no... You know, the band is not writing songs, the band is not in the studio," he said. "We get along famously and we all, you know, intend to do more RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE stuff in the future, but beyond sort of working out a concert this year, there's nothing else on the schedule."

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE released its last studio album, "Renegades", in 2000. The band disbanded that year and reunited in 2007, but despite playing a number of live shows has not recorded anything new.

Morello will release a new EP, "Union Town", digitally on May 17 and as a CD and vinyl album on July 19. All profits from "Union Town" will benefit The America Votes Labor Unity Fund via SaveWorkers.org. The disc consists of eight pro-union songs inspired by Morello's attendance at pro-union rallies in Madison, Wisconsin this past February.

Morello will also release his third solo album under the name THE NIGHTWATCHMAN, titled "World Wide Rebel Songs", in late summer.

He wasn't the only genius in RATM you know; Tom Morello is doing great socially conscious work as the Nightwatchman. It's definitely not RATM, but he's definitely a genius, both musically and politically.

He needs to defend his territory :&gt

He has been in One Day As a Lion (which rocks).

And he did a solo thing - a bit to hip hop for my liking.

Mon Jan 30, 2012, 01:48 PM
Jan 2012

The beginning spills through city veins
Into the arteries
And under powers poison clouds
We move like the shadows
Through the alley ways
Through nightmares bought and sold as dreams
Through barren factories
Through boarded schools
Through rotting fields
Through the burning doors of the past
Through imaginations exploding
To break the curfews in our minds

Our actions awaken dreams of actions multiplied
A restless fury
Once buried like burning embers
Left alone to smolder
But together stacked under the walls of a dying order
All sparks are counted
Calloused hands raised in silence
Over the bonfire of hope unincorporated
It's flame restores tomorrows meaning
Across the graveyards of hollow promises
As gold dipped vultures pick at what is left of our denial

And the youngest among us
Stare at us stoned like eyes determined
And say
Death for us may come early
Cause dignity has no price
At the corner of now and nowhere
Anywhere
Everywhere
Tomorrow is calling
Tomorrow is calling

Do not be afraid
