Jan Brewer's Raising Money Boasting About Disrespecting President

from HuffPo: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/30/jan-brewer-pac-obama-fundraiser_n_1241794.html

Her book, "Scorpions for Breakfast," has seen a monumental increase in sales since the exchange.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) is seeking to fill her political action committee's coffers with a new fundraising effort based on her recent high-profile encounter with President Barack Obama on a Phoenix airport tarmac.

"When I met President Obama this week, I really wasn't pointing at him. I was telling him, 'You have ONE more year!' The President needs to be reminded that he is the President of the FEDERAL REPUBLIC and not a KING lording over state governors," Brewer writes in Jan PAC's new ask, beside a now-famous picture of the governor wagging her finger in Obama's face.

Jan PAC was created last year with the goal of supporting conservative, pro-immigration enforcement candidates for federal office.

. . . for the public officials engaging in them. We jump on them fast and hard, but they bring their ilk out from under their rocks when they adopt centuries-old rhetoric and tried-and-true appeals to the lowest denominator. There's a ready industry for pols willing to adopt hateful acts and actions.

"What I discovered is, is that I think it's always good publicity for a Republican if they're in an argument with me. But this was really not a big deal," President Obama told ABC News' Diane Sawyer.

Independents make up about 30% of the electorate. You can't win elections without them. Stunts like that will turn them off. Independents may have issues with the President, but overall, they respect him as a person, and they would expect other to do so.
