Old Man/New Floridian Predicts Primary Results

Romney.......38%
Gingrich.......35%

Given that some polls are now showing a 20-point lead by Romney http://slatest.slate.com/posts/2012/01/23/florida_gop_polls_newt_gingrich_opens_up_lead_on_mitt_romney.html, tomorrow night's numbers will be spun by the media as "disappointing" for Mitt, probably prompting the Adelsons to kick another $10,000,000 Newt's way.

And now it's time for my nap.

I don't agree, but it doesn't matter. Florida is a winner-take-all state. Mittens gets Liberal_Stalwart71 Jan 2012 #3

all 50 of FL's delegates, and the upcoming primaries don't look good for Grinch either, seeing as though he's not even on the ballot in some of these states.

I wish it were true. I wish that Grinch performed better during the final two debates, but he didn't.

I truly believe that after Grinch loses FL tomorrow, it's all over for him.

I can tune out the ones on the TV, but it freaks me when they come up on YouTube.

According to a Sam Stein report here:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/30/newt-gingrich-republican-convention_n_1242464.html

...FL was punished for moving its primary up before April 1 and declaring a winner-take-all system. RNC Chair penalized the state GOP by reducing the number of electors from 99 to 50. I had forgotten all about this.

Furthermore, Stein reports that it only takes one registered Republican voter to contest the winner-take-all formula, since many voters may feel disenfranchised if all the delegated go to Mittens.

So yes, Found in Yonkers may be correct if Grinch can keep the contest close and then someone challenges the results.

Stein makes the cogent point that Grinch has no reason to exit the race because upcoming Southern primaries/causes favor him. In other words, Newtie will have to turn up the racism a notch to get his MOJO back.
