Rejected for “derogatory references to fossil fuels”

Republicans in the Minnesota Senate rejected Gov. Dayton's choice for Public Utilities Commission Chairwoman, Ellen Anderson, despite the fact she served in the state senate since 1994 and her voting record as chairwoman of the PUC is in line with the Republican majority on the commission. But she committed an unforgivable offense....

She insulted oil.

Republicans also suspect Anderson is having an affair with renewable energy and hurt the feelings of greenhouse gases.

Her rejection got personal when a long time friend GOP Sen. Julie Rosen said Anderson held "extreme" views and would not be impartial because she made “derogatory references to fossil fuels".

It's going to be a long session....
