The lack of any kind of compassion for their fellow human beings. Even US War Veterans are targets, they support the military but won't lift a finger to help a Veteran who comes back from the war, which they supported. One even went so far as to tell a soldier, why did you come back? You should have just died over there.

They believe the bottom line is $$$$, and that seems to be what we are all taught. BUT - The real bottom line is you and me. $$$ fit in somewhere else along the line. You can tell by their policies that they are waiting for who they consider to be "the least" to die.

Now I am not a practicing christian (although my Dad was a Pres. minister), but Jesus said what you do to the least of me you do unto me. I have never forgotten that. I think most religions of the world think that in some way, shape or form. Even atheist have a moral compass.

27. You make a wise point. When I talk to a bona-fide republican for more than 2 minutes,

their argument always come around to "minorities" somehow getting something for little work or nothing. To most modern republicans, working people that work two jobs and still don't have enough to live off don't exist, those people are moochers that stay home all day waiting for their welfare check to arrive, one check that they get more "free" checks that they cheat the system to get. Their favorite bogeyman are free "Obama phones" that are handed out to any "minority" that wants one. They don't seem to realize that Obama didn't start the assisted phone program, or that program serves mostly poor, elderly seniors that are on Social Security. To the republicans that I meet and end up ignoring have the world view that non-Whites are automatically suspect, that is a view that any sane person can reject.

1. The biggest complainers about takers are the ones that are most on the take such as Michelle Bachmann who never met a government subsidy or dollar she couldn't fall in love with.

2. They want say they want small government, but they are willing to regulate to the single cell when a woman can practice birth control. Some would even ban contraceptives.

3. They say they want small government yet, they willingly increase spending on the MIC whenever they get the chance.

4. They say they want small government, but they will regulate who and who can't marry.

5. They think yelling is a good debate strategy.

6. They think it's fine for people to work for minimum wages to have increased taxes, but if you raise taxes by a fraction of a percent on the wealthy you are a communist that hates freedom.

7. If they can't find a scandal to pin on a Democrat, they will just make one up.

8. When GW was CEO they were fine with thousands of Americans dying at Embassies and Military bases, but when 4 Americans are murdered as tragic as that is, the tragedy is not thousands that have died.

9. They love the 2nd Amendment, but act as if they have never heard of the 1st.

10. They voted against the VAWA then several including my favorite congressperson to hate Michelle Bachmann.

11. They say they are not racist yet, constantly make racist comments. I would rather they just say Black people then couch their terms by saying Urban Youth or people on welfare or whatever other label they wish to hide behind. I have not forgotten they called Obama the food stamp president.

12. They constantly throw roadblocks out there for people looking for work or furthering their education then complain that people are lazy if they need some kind of assistance.

13. They are doing their best to make public education a historical footnote.

15. The only manufacturing they have created is crisis manufacturing. They are churning those out on a monthly basis.

23. They think the elderly and disabled cost too much. But, the MIC is just fine as it is except they need even more money.

24. They will line up for hours waiting for a greasy chicken sandwich because the owner of the joint is against gay marriage.

I asked many conservatives just what it was that they wanted to conserve, and what it boiled down to was "wealth for the wealthy, and power for the powerful." They make puppy-dog eyes at "the Constitution," but don't seem to be aware that what they really want is the Constitution the way it was pre-Civil War, and the country the way it was in the world of "The Waltons". They are oblivious (consciously or otherwise) to the fact that those realities have faded from existence.

but my biggest pet peeve is that they spend hours upon hours endlessly attacking Democratic proposals that seek to address real concerns of average people and tell us why this or that won't work and why but they never bother to offer up any alternatives or really any solution for anything at all. I know why that is- they just don't care about people not in their race/class/income bracket- but I wish that they'd just be more honest about the fact that they don't care instead of acting like they care but that they're just trying to save us from bad solutions and, in the process, obstructing the rest of us from trying to do right by the majority of people in this country. Since their ideas are supposedly so superior to ours and they have all the answers, surely they should be able to tell us their ideas and persuade the public to demand that they get adopted post-haste, right?

Yet, all they keep talking about is that damned "blank piece of paper" they want to start over with all the time whenever Democrats try to suggest something.
