That Jesus isn't portrayed by a blond. But the devil was too obvious a slam for me to even consider watching.

way out of line. First of all, Jesus wasn't white with light colored hair, or at least one wouldn't think so when considering the ethnic group he was born into. And the devil depiction should look more like a member of the Congress or Senate, perhaps a little more like Paul Ryan or McConnell maybe? I'm sure there are others whose appearance would be more appropriate. (Personally, I always pictured the devil with light skin... being dead/undead and all.)

If anyone doesn't think "History" Channel hasn't jumped the shark by now, well ......

And to be theologically more honest, Satan should be beautiful. He was, after all, an Angel.

What the History Channel Is Getting Wrong About the Bible

Not quite everything. Just geography, anthropology, archaeology, biblical studies, theology, race and ethnicity. Not all of them all of the time, but most of them, most of the time. The History Channel is engaging in a systematic whitewashing of the Bible, its characters and narratives, with a few telling exceptions. And this matters because of the way that race functions historically in the West, in the United States and in the Church and, how the construction of race in modernity is shaped by, in and, in response to the Scriptures.
