Crap.. Ashley just said she won't run.
(CNN) - Actress and Democrat Ashley Judd, who was openly considering challenging Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell for his Kentucky seat in 2014, announced Wednesday she was "currently unable" to run for public office.
"After serious and thorough contemplation, I realize that my responsibilities & energy at this time need to be focused on my family," Judd wrote on Twitter. The announcement comes after months of speculation that Judd – an actress with family roots in Kentucky - would jump into politics. The rumors sparked heavy backlash from Republicans, including McConnell, who began producing videos attacking Judd. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2013/03/27/ashley-judd-wont-run-for-senate/

1. That's a shame!
Why so early?
She could have kept the Reeps scared and spending big bucks! |

2. As I posted in the LBN thread,
I wonder if the more entrenched Party PTB "strongly encouraged" her to go away?
I don't know, I'm not in Ky. But I know in-state, intraparty politics can be brutal. |

3. Honestly, why should we have looked to her
as some kind of political savior? She's never run for office.

5. didn't they have another very qualified woman who was endorsed by the Clintons?
I think she took preference and Ashley just graciously bowed out...whatever, it's all good...

8. Well President Barack Obama
said he won't run almost right up to the point that he decided to run and he's now been elected twice and is doing something right since he's the most hated man by republicans who has probably ever lived.
