I hope due process is served

I hope any and all suspects voluntarily avail themselves of due process; I hope they are provided an attorney before making any statements to police; I hope they are provided with notice of the charges against them; a reasonable determination of bail or no bail; access to compulsory process for evidence and witnesses in their favor; I hope all the evidence against them is admissible, and that no in admissible evidence is used against them at trial; I hope they are tried by an impartial jury and a judge with a good grasp of procedure and basis for objections; I hope they are provided with an opportunity to appeal their verdicts and are provided with effective and competent counsel in that appeal; I hope they are not subjected to cruel and unusual punishment; I hope that they are not executed; I hope that study of them for years can provide us with useful diagnostic information.

7. And that is why I said "voluntarily avail" themselves

If they pose a public menace, and will not surrender to obtain their rights, then the police have a duty to preserve order.

8. Yes, and that's what it sounds as if is happening, posing public menace.

11. I'm an American too, and if my country can take out "terrorist" in another country

by executive order it can take out these clowns in Boston too.

But I do hope they can afford good legal consul for themselves.

13. Oh, give it a rest...These guys started shooting & throwing grenades at the police

and already murdered one at MIT.

If they don't get "due process" it will be entirely of their own doing.

10. They will get due process.

This will be the trial of the century after all. Whether they get the death penalty depends on which jurisdiction takes custody and prosecutes. Massachusetts doesn't have the DP, but the Feds do.

14. I don't think they want 'due process'.

A 'blaze of glory' is more like it; they're suicidal and don't care who they take with them.
