i'm satisfied with the explanation from snopes; i think most people would be. the motivation of the poster could be to spread false rumors; it could just as easily be that he saw the information uncontextualized, just as it almost was here.

My previous guess was wrong. It's not embedded here, it's a screen grab. So the computer it was grabbed from was set to Pacific time.
