PELHAM, Alabama -- Accompanied by a stern message about the community remaining safe, the Pelham City Council tonight officially rejected a federal grant for tornado shelters.

Because we Republicans can take it. Those people don't mind waiting 20 years to get their home built back up. They pull themselves up with their bootstraps. Now please excuse me while I talk to my contractor who is rebuilding MY house. Our people don't need no stinkin Government welfare.
