1. How many people will only see the heckling on the news and none of his speech?
This person has done the public a disservice. She sucked up the media attention for her own use and took away from what Obama was trying to do.
SHAME ON HER!!! She is a blight to her cause. |

2. How many would have seen the speech on the news?
What news would have carried more than a snippet of the speech?

6. Yes he was going to get only a snippit and now she is part of the time they will allocate.
See even Lawrence had to show her.

They are a blight to any cause they support.

7. That's actually a good point but here's how I look at it:
if Medea hadn't handed them an "alternative narrative" somebody else would have. They'd be interrupting coverage with urgent updates on a fender bender in New Jersey if they had to.

4. Mission accomplished?
I respect Medea's past work but she jumped the shark in 2009. Now she's preaching the ratpack's gospel of drone and Scahill's defending her? I hope she's not being played.

Looks like Medea is free to line up interviews and Twitter with her pals including Occupy Wall Street:
See you there, @jeremyscahill https://twitter.com/medeabenjamin |

18. Scahill explains why Obama is worse than Bush, Cheney, Romney, and McCain:
all in one paragraph. I underlined the 4 names so you won't miss them:
So, you know, I think that because—because it’s a popular Democratic president, I think people have been convinced that things have really radically shifted, and in reality, they haven’t. And that my friend is the ratbaggers' gospel of drone. Any questions? |

20. I have a question
Can you dispute any of what Scahill said? Or is the Bush doctrine OK as long as Obama maintains it?

21. Are you seriously asking if I can dispute Scahill's claim that Obama is worse than Bush?
And Cheney, McCain, and Romney? Because that makes me wonder if you're clear on the views members are expected to bring to this discussion. See if this helps:
Democratic Underground is an online community for politically liberal people who understand the importance of working within the system to elect more Democrats and fewer Republicans to all levels of political office. Teabaggers, Neo-cons, Dittoheads, Paulites, Freepers, Birthers, and right-wingers in general are not welcome here. Neither are certain extreme-fringe left-wingers, including advocates of violent political/social change, hard-line communists, terrorist-apologists, America-haters, kooks, crackpots, LaRouchies, and the like. Obama is not worse than Bush, no. If that isn't obvious to you, this isn't really something I can help you with. |

11. just a hunch
It is a clumsy attempt at a smear of anyone who speaks out in opposition to Obama's drone policy.

12. I'm sure the White House would prefer the focus be on her rather than the drone policy.
She did them a favor if, in fact, she becomes the story.

They have an agenda and she is useful now.
