So I as a German am not allowed to call Ms. Bachman a foreigner when she is visting Germany? What?

9. That's also part of the joke: that the CAPTION can sound so real

(I often use the subject's speaking patterns and pet phrases even) that there is the double take. The fact that they often seem almost real (I've had many people ask if someone "really said that?"
indicates how far out there the subject is in reality.
But it makes it very hard to satirize the likes of Glenn Beck. To top his craziness, the CAPTIONer has to write something so insane that the double take will not be effective. |
