Shell Oil Company Gas Prices WTH

Why the hell would anyone pay more for their gas. Right now Shell is 60 cents a gallon higher than the likes of Union 76.


What makes their gas better than anyone else.

3. The only Shell I know is in the middle of a huge construction project, it has gasoline at 3.999/gal

which is the same as nearby Mobile and BP.

I noticed the other day that diesel had fallen below $4/gal and has even been below the price of lowest-grade for the first time in many months.

4. Shell regulare here in SE Texas averages $3.29 a gallon.

Has been pretty stable at that price for the last month or so.

5. IIRC, Texas had some relief from interstate taxes that places like WI paid

It's been ~25 years since I was a grad student at TAMU, and things may have changed but I remember lower gasoline prices in TX explained to me that way.

6. I use Shell, it's the same price as other stations.

Plus, I get 10 cents off with my Kroger card.
